A Place in the Middle documentary image

Join story creator Kumu Hina Wong-Kalu for a screening of, and conversation about, “A Place in the Middle” – the film at the center of a dynamic educational campaign for safe and inclusive schools.

“A Place in the Middle” tells the true-life story of a young Hawaiian girl who dreams of leading her school’s boys-only hula troupe, and an inspiring teacher who uses traditional culture to empower her.

Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the McCully-Mōʻiliʻili Public Library 10 days before the event to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
